Viterbo and Tuscia pursue European Capital of Culture 2033

51 municipalities have expressed support for Viterbo and the Tuscia area's bid to become European Capital of Culture 2033. The initiative seeks to build an integrated cultural project connecting historical assets, artistic production and the area's landscape resources.

The proposal focuses on several key objectives:

• Enhancing historical, archaeological and architectural heritage in the province.
• Promoting sustainable cultural and tourism routes.
• Supporting networks of cultural operators, artists and local communities.

The backing from 51 local administrations underscores a commitment to territorial collaboration. Bid organizers plan to prepare the dossier, hold consultations with cultural stakeholders and launch public engagement activities to define the programme accompanying the candidacy.

Being named European Capital of Culture can bring economic revitalization and international visibility, as well as encourage investment in cultural infrastructure and creative activities.
