Unica strengthens anti‑mafia network to spread culture of legality across Italy

On 12 May 2026 the Unione nazionale italiana della cultura antimafia (Unica) updated its organizational structure, appointing new territorial delegates and naming Elena Scarlato as vice president. The move seeks to increase on‑the‑ground presence through training, school programs, and support for vulnerable communities.

• Goal: promote a culture of legality, especially among younger generations.
• Planned actions: school meetings, educational projects, legal assistance and local awareness campaigns.
• Leadership: president Raffaele Aiello and national ambassador Catello Maresca emphasized the role of cohesion and civic commitment.

Unica stresses that strengthening its network—with more than 50 local contacts—will enable interventions in critical areas and the development of prevention paths aimed primarily at youth.
