Torino Comics turns 30: the Japanese Quarter returns

From 30 May to 1 June, the 30th edition of Torino Comics takes place at the Certosa Reale and Parco Dalla Chiesa in Collegno. After more than a decade, the Japanese Quarter — created in collaboration with the Okugi association — makes a comeback, offering a dedicated area on Japanese culture.

  • Workshops and experiences: Japan-themed crochet, origami, Sumi-e painting, cosplay accessory building and yukata dressing sessions.
  • Talks and panels: discussions on the evolution of Japanese TV animation and roundtables on anime culture.
  • Guests: speakers include Enzo Tripodina, Kenta Suzuki (@kenta.giappone) and Italian authors and scholars specialized in Japanese pop culture.
  • Audience: programs designed for all ages, from manga and anime fans to families interested in Japanese crafts and traditions.

The return of the Japanese Quarter broadens the festival's cultural offer by combining entertainment, outreach and hands-on workshops. The program includes themed sessions in the Cloister Hall and opportunities for in-depth conversations with experts and creators.
