Friuli Venezia Giulia allocates €900,000 to municipalities with UNESCO

Friuli Venezia Giulia: €900,000 for municipalities with UNESCO sites

Trieste, 24 April 2026 - The Regional Council of Friuli Venezia Giulia, following a proposal by the deputy governor for Culture, approved the allocation of €900,000 to municipalities that host UNESCO sites.

• Cividale del Friuli: €405,000 (€150,000 current expenditure, €255,000 capital) for the context "The Lombards in Italy. Places of power".
• Palmanova: €295,000 (€250,000 current, €45,000 capital) for "Venetian defensive works of the 16th and 17th centuries: Stato da Terra - Stato da Mar Occidentale".
• Caneva: €200,000 (€100,000 current, €100,000 capital) for the Palù di Livenza pile-dwelling site.

The measure, adopted under Regional Law 11/2019, intends to support the conservation and management of UNESCO-listed assets and to enhance the cultural and tourism value of the affected territories.
