Free museum options in Rome on 22 April 2026: exhibitions, study rooms and open spaces

On Wednesday 22 April 2026 you can access several museums and cultural venues at no cost: civic museums allow free entry for residents with ID, while some galleries and study rooms remain open with free admission.

What to see and where

  • Instituto Cervantes – Sala Dalí: Esteban Vicente exhibition, open until 2 May 2026 with free entry.
  • Dorothy Circus Gallery: exhibitions on Via dei Pettinari with free admission; check event times for temporary shows.
  • Spazio WeGil (Trastevere): "Roma Terzo Millennio" exhibition open daily 10:00–19:00 until 30 June 2026; free entry.
  • Tor Pignattara study room: via di Acqua Bulicante 2, 36 workstations, Mon–Fri 9:00–19:00; free for study and work.
  • Roseto Comunale (Aventino): seasonal opening from 21 April, daily 8:30–19:30; free access.
  • San Lorenzo in Lucina: church and artworks open to visitors during usual daily hours; free entry.
  • Street art: Lucamaleonte's mural trilogy on via Dina Galli (Vigne Nuove) is visible 24/7 and accessible free of charge.

Practical information

Bring a valid ID if you are a resident in the metropolitan area: civic museum free admission is granted upon presentation of proof of residence. Opening hours can change due to holidays or temporary closures; check official pages of each venue before you go.

Tip: pair a central visit with a peripheral stop (for example Tor Pignattara or the Aventino Rose Garden) to make the most of free access without entrance fees.
