Basilica of San Bernardino – A church rebuilt in Baroque style after historical earthquakes, notable for its façade by Cola dell'Amatrice and a richly decorated interior with a historic organ.
Forte Spagnolo and MuNDA – A massive Renaissance fortress now housing the National Museum of Abruzzo, with prehistoric finds and medieval sculptures.
Piazza Duomo and Cathedral of San Massimo – One of Italy’s largest squares; lively and framed by cafes and historic buildings even while restoration works continue.
Auditorium of the Park – Renzo Piano – A modern wooden complex of cylinders used for concerts and cultural events as part of the 2026 program.
Corso Vittorio Emanuele and the arcades – The main promenade stretches about 700 meters and features bright stone arcades, shops and cafes ideal for a leisurely walk.
Gran Sasso – Highest peak of the Apennines with trails and winter skiing; reachable via cable car from Assergi.
Stiffe Caves – Underground walkways among stalactites and stalagmites, with a stable 10°C interior temperature.
