From 22 to 31 May 2026 the historic centre of Vittoria (RG) will once again become a diffuse stage: for ten days squares, courtyards and historic homes will host theatre, contemporary circus, dance, music, installations and workshops.
Directed by Andrea Burrafato, the festival reaches its eighteenth edition and consolidates its role in the southern Italian performing arts scene, supported by regional and national institutions. The organisation reports figures that underline the event's growing cultural relevance.
Early announcements include works that explore the relationship between stage and city, such as "Eden" by Théâtre Jaleo, designed to interact with urban architecture, and contemporary circus projects like the premiere "La vertigine del desiderio" by the company El Grito – Giacomo Costantini. Other notable entries are "Prometeo" by PoEM, the long durational installation "Heinz Baut" by Traberproduktion – Julian Bellini, and immersive pieces like "Finzioni" by Lupa Maimone.
The festival will also present a Swiss Focus, supported by Pro Helvetia, featuring Théâtre Circulaire and the performance "Porte-à-faux". The Raccordi section, realised with local partners and targeted funds, will offer events aimed at fostering dialogue and coexistence through shows, workshops and community activities.
Full programme details will be announced in the coming days. Once again, Scenica Festival aims to make the city itself a leading part of a shared cultural experience and to strengthen the bond between live performance and its audience.
