Historic trains 2026 in Friuli Venezia Giulia: discover villages and heritage

From April 12 to December 20, 2026, the historic train programme returns to Friuli Venezia Giulia with 38 scheduled runs designed to showcase villages, historic centres, natural landscapes and sites of memory. The initiative promotes slow tourism, local enhancement and sustainable travel by rail, offering themed routes for culture, food and folklore enthusiasts.

Organised by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region in collaboration with FS Treni turistici italiani and PromoTurismoFVG, the programme includes special fares, often with included activities (guided tours, nature excursions), and allows bicycles on board.

• April 12 – season opening with the Spring Festival in Latisana;
• April 19 – "Trieste and the Sea" train, with visits to the Maritime Museum and related sites;
• April 26 – villages and Pordenone plain itinerary (San Vito al Tagliamento and Casarsa della Delizia) for the Wine Festival;
• May 2 – Historic Train of the Alpine reconstruction (Treviso > Pinzano al Tagliamento);
