The Casa delle Letterature presents "Rome, in particular", a photographic exhibition by Valerio Ventura featuring ten original works displayed in the cloister gallery. The project focuses on close observations of the city: architectural details, surprising views and surfaces that reframe everyday scenes into new perspectives.
The images form a visual atlas of gestures of looking. Each photograph is linked to a keyword — an action, feeling or way of engaging with urban space — and includes the precise shooting location, encouraging visitors to continue exploring Rome beyond the exhibition space.
The exhibition traces a gradual shift from a symbolic image of the city to intimate and sculptural details, revealing a less obvious Rome. Ventura's photographs invite an active mode of observation, turning the city itself into part of the exhibition experience.
Valerio Ventura, trained as an architect and active as an independent artist, works across photography, painting and site-specific installations. His practice explores the relationship between space, material and perception, recasting ordinary places into suspended, sometimes metaphysical compositions.
