Castello dei Mutamenti in Arcidosso: call for under-36 art residencies

The call for "Il Castello dei Mutamenti – Arti, Paesaggi, Utopie" is open until 20 May 2026. Promoted by Accademia Mutamenti and WAV-e and funded by the European Social Fund+ (Tuscany Region), the project offers two six-month residencies (2026–2027) hosted at the Castello Aldobrandesco in Arcidosso.

Selected participants will live and work onsite, developing research and production projects in close dialogue with the territory, landscape and local community. The Municipality of Arcidosso provides the castle's halls for the duration of the residencies to support a culturally rooted programme.

• Eligible candidates: under-36 artists and curators, Italian and international, active in visual arts, performance, photography, digital arts and interdisciplinary practices.
• Structure: two six-month residencies (2026–2027); each residency will host 6 artists and 1 curator, selected via a national public call.
• Included support: dedicated work spaces, artistic and curatorial tutoring, and a structured training programme with national-level professionals.
• Outputs: creation of site-specific works, collaboration with local artisans and organisations, public presentations and a final exhibition.

The training path includes contributions from recognised figures such as architect Edoardo Milesi and artist Moira Ricci, together with a multidisciplinary team guiding participants through project development and innovative practices.

Applicants should hold a secondary school diploma and may be unemployed individuals aiming to build a professional career in the cultural sector. To apply, submit your application by the deadline of 20 May 2026 following the organisers' public notice.
