Released on May 1, the third edition of the Guide to Sustainable Municipalities presents more than 1,000 places and involves 167 local bodies. The volume aims to showcase an Italy committed to the United Nations' 2030 Agenda.
The guide will be presented on May 15 at the Turin International Book Fair. Key facts and new features of the 2026 edition include:
Highlighted case studies include Aielli's urban regeneration, the long Tibetan bridge in Castelsaraceno linking areas of the Pollino and Appennino Lucano parks, Varese's Ri-HUB Food food redistribution centre, the Narni Kids Map, Andria's La città bambina project, and the Arno cycle route — a system of trails of about 510 km crossing the Cascina area.
The guide is conceived both as a resource for citizens and travellers seeking responsible tourism and as a repository of replicable policies and projects for local administrators.
