Rome and L'Aquila: the art "journey" continues

A cultural dialogue symbolically connects the Italian capital and L'Aquila through exhibitions exploring travel as an emotional experience and the Japanese world from image to spirituality.

  • Viaggi: esperienze emozionali — Palazzo dell'Emiciclo, L'Aquila. A group show organised by Borgo Pio Art Gallery and Monolite Notizie, featuring 29 artists across painting, photography, sculpture and installations; free admission. On display from 2 May until 15 May 2026.
  • Nanakorobi Yaoki — Fall seven times, get up the eighth — Palazzo Cappa Cappelli, Fondazione Giorgio de Marchis Bonanni d'Ocre. Opening Saturday 16 May 2026 at 18:00. First chapter: "Immaginare l'invisibile" by Fabio Massimo Fioravanti; the exhibition includes 100 photographs of Nō theatre, 40 ukiyo-e prints by Tsukioka Kōgyo (first time in Italy), Nō masks by Keiko Udaka, costumes and ritual fans. Presentation by Giorgio Amitrano and a shimai performed by Monique Arnaud.
  • Rome acts as an ideal link thanks to the major Katsushika Hokusai exhibition, enriching the dialogue between Japanese aesthetics and Italian cultural routes.

The initiative highlights different dimensions of travel — physical, emotional and ritual — inviting visitors to a contemplative itinerary that bridges tradition and contemporary practice.
