Pordenone eyes Italian Capital of Culture 2027 with a participatory dossier

The Promoting Committee for Pordenone's bid to become Italian Capital of Culture 2027 met to confirm a territory-rooted plan. The dossier includes 52 projects involving more than one hundred local organisations and aims to create lasting cultural and infrastructural benefits for the province.

Priorities highlighted by the Committee include urban decor, public space redevelopment and infrastructure improvements, while safeguarding daily services for residents. Some initiatives are expected to start in 2026, with calls for proposals to fund new projects; a national communication strategy is scheduled for 2026, using print, radio, TV and digital channels.

Confindustria Alto Adriatico described the bid as a strategic investment for the local economy. Mayor Alessandro Basso emphasized the participatory approach, calling it "a game for the city and the territory".
