Monumenti Aperti 2026: 60 municipalities and over 600 sites open across Sardinia

After a record-breaking preview in Cagliari with 120,156 visits, the 30th edition of Monumenti Aperti expands throughout the island. The regional program involves 60 municipalities, over 600 monuments and more than 50 cultural routes, supported by approximately 15,000 volunteers.

  • Main period: May 2026, with activities resuming in autumn and widespread events across Sardinia.
  • 9 and 10 May 2026: a weekend with numerous towns open, including Oristano, Porto Torres, Dorgali and Villasimius.
  • New entries and returns: Buddusò and Ulassai join the circuit; Ales, Marrubiu, Monastir, Narcao, Nuoro, Sant'Anna Arresi, Teulada and Usini return.
  • Key sites: the Loelle archaeological area (Buddusò), the Stazione dell'Arte (Ulassai), the prenuragic sanctuary of Monte d'Accoddi (Sassari), the Cathedral of Santa Chiara (Iglesias) and the Salvatore Fancello Museum (Dorgali).
  • Special projects: initiatives on rural architecture in collaboration with the Sardinia Region under the PNRR.

Coordinated by Imago Mundi OdV, the event also has a national dimension with activities across Italian regions and a planned closing between November and December.
