Maggio Museale 2026 at the Polo Museale – Sapienza Cultura

Date: Saturday 23 May 2026 | Hours: open from 15:00 to 24:00 (special evening from 20:00). Free entry and parking.

The Sapienza Polo Museale presents a day of activities across the University City aimed at families, students and art and science enthusiasts. The programme is part of the European Night of Museums and includes temporary exhibitions, guided tours, children's workshops, performances and an evening concert.

Main programme

• Museum of Etruscan and Italic Antiquities – opening of the exhibition "Etruscan Blue, Etruscan Gold" at 18:00; evening guided tours at 21:00, 22:00 and 23:00; children's workshops ("Etruscan Puzzle" and "Undecipherable? Let's write in Etruscan"); thematic seminar and the "Etruscan Vanguard" concert in the evening.
• Geography Museum – "Sound Geographies" exhibition with continuous visits (18:00–22:00); children's workshops on constructing and representing mountains and geography readings for young audiences.
• Giuseppe Sergi Anthropology Museum – open 18:00–23:00; guided tours at 21:00 and 22:00; workshop "Meet the ancestor" about human evolution.
• MLAC – Museum-Laboratory of Contemporary Art – first Italian retrospective of Alì Assaf (Works 1973–2011) with a curator-led visit at 18:00; children's workshop "Paper Windows"; artist performance and documentary-interview screening.
• Museum of Origins – exhibition "New Readings for Prehistory" with updated displays; children's workshops on hunter‑gatherer life; evening guided visits 22:00–23:00.
• Evening concert – from 20:00 opening performance by the Ensemble MuSa Blues conducted by Maestro Stefano Ciuffi in the Odeion Hall of the Museum of Classical Art.
