Historic mills open in Cunardo and Ghirla for the European Mill Days

For the European Mill Days, the Rigamonti Mill in Cunardo and the Ghirla Hammer Mill will welcome visitors with a programme aimed at families, history enthusiasts and anyone interested in traditional water-powered crafts.

Main programme

• Saturday, 16 May – free visits to the Hammer Mill and Rigamonti Mill from 15:00 to 18:00.
• Sunday, 17 May – a fuller schedule of events:

• Rigamonti Mill:
  • 09:00–10:00: Yoga awakening on the mill lawn (outdoor wellness session).
  • 10:00–12:00: guided tours of the mill.
  • 14:00–17:00: additional guided tours with insights into traditional milling techniques.
  • 15:00: creative sensory workshop for children, led by educator Manuela Miris.
  • 12:00: show cooking focused on fresh pasta made with traditional flours by Slow Food Varese (tasting and participation by reservation).
  • 16:00: prize-giving for the drawing contest "Represent your valley" for local pupils.
  • 18:00: "Polenta and local specialties" tasting organized by Pro Loco Valganna.
• Ghirla Hammer Mill:
  • 10:00–17:30: temporary exhibition "Arte della Valle" curated by the Municipality of Valganna.
• 14:30: meeting at the Badia di Ganna for the walk "Le ruote girano", a route along the Via Francisca del Lucomagno to Rigamonti Mill.
