Il Regno dei Mazzamurelli – the adventure park for kids and grown-ups alike

In Abruzzo, adventure never ends — especially at Il Regno dei Mazzamurelli, a 30,000-square-meter adventure park nestled in a fairy-tale forest near San Pio delle Camere.

The park takes its name from the Mazzamurelli, mischievous elves from Abruzzese folklore, and its atmosphere perfectly evokes that enchanted world: forest trails, suspended walkways, long zip lines, as well as animals to meet, creative workshops, and walks through nature.

The park’s courses

The park features seven adventure courses (plus two for briefing), divided by difficulty level and suitable for ages 4 and up. Safety is paramount: every participant is attached to a continuous lifeline that prevents unhooking, ensuring total protection and respect for the surrounding environment.

The youngest can enjoy the yellow and orange courses, while older children, teens, and adults can challenge themselves on the green, blue, light blue, and red trails, culminating in zip lines over 100 meters long, reserved for visitors weighing over 40 kg.

Visitors can also stay for a picnic or barbecue with friends. A picnic table (for up to 8 people) costs €6, while a barbecue station with charcoal costs €12.

Those who prefer not to take part in the courses can still enter the park by paying only €3 for admission.

• Sundays and holidays: 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Tuesdays and Thursdays: open 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. by reservation via Facebook
• Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: open by reservation at least two days in advance for groups of 12–15 people

These activities are also ideal for school groups and summer camps: from beekeeping to DOP saffron cultivation, and encounters with deer and mouflons that inhabit the area — contact with nature is always guaranteed.

Where it is and how to get there

Il Regno dei Mazzamurelli is located in Località Cerquelle, San Pio delle Camere (AQ), along the road to Carapelle Calvisio–Calascio, about 25 km from L’Aquila. It’s easily accessible by car and is a recommended stop for those visiting the Piana di Navelli or Rocca Calascio.
