Francigena Fidenza Festival 2026: six days dedicated to walking

From 5 to 10 May 2026 Fidenza (Parma) becomes a national hub for slow tourism with the Francigena Fidenza Festival. The event, extended this year from three to six days, features walks, exhibitions, performances and talks under the theme "The pilgrimage belongs to everyone."

• Historical routes: scheduled connections from Fidenza to Fiorenzuola and Busseto (9 May).
• “Lenti alla meta”: collective walk to Fornovo Taro (10 May), celebrating the beauty of slowness.
• Sigerico by bicycle (9 May): an option for those who prefer two wheels.
• Mindful walks and urban treks: rediscovering landscape and pilgrim memories through sensory experiences.
• Exhibitions, talks and school activities: contributions from scholars, pilgrims and sector professionals.

The festival also marks the 25th anniversary of the European Association of the Via Francigena and coincides with the 2026 conclusion of the ICOMOS evaluation for the Via Francigena's UNESCO candidacy. Organized by the Municipality of Fidenza with regional partners, the program promotes responsible, inclusive tourism that enhances local cultural and natural assets.

Activities are open to the public and designed for pilgrims, families, nature lovers and citizens, offering routes for different ages and fitness levels.
