"Sicilia che Piace": four Iblean municipalities receive regional funding

The provisional list published by the Department of Productive Activities awards several promotional projects in the province of Ragusa. Out of 211 proposals, 97 initiatives were selected for a total fund of €1.6 million, with grants of up to €20,000 per project.

• Acate: granted the maximum contribution, scoring 90 points.
• Modica: full grant, 83 points.
• Pozzallo: full grant, 80 points.
• Ragusa: funded with 70 points and a share of €16,000.

Some municipalities were excluded or admitted without funding: Scicli appears as eligible but currently not funded, while Monterosso Almo and Santa Croce Camerina are listed as not admissible. Other centres such as Vittoria, Comiso, Ispica, Chiaramonte Gulfi and Giarratana do not appear in the ranking.

The scheme aims to support initiatives that enhance cultural heritage, typical local products and events, with the purpose of increasing tourist appeal and generating positive economic impacts for the involved municipalities.
