In Cumiana, about 30 km from Turin, lies Zoom Torino, Italy’s first immersive biopark — a walk-through adventure that faithfully recreates the environments of Africa and Asia, allowing visitors to observe animals up close, without cages or metal barriers, but separated only by moats, bushes, and streams.
Architecture and Habitats
Opened in 2009 across an area of about 160,000–180,000 m², Zoom hosts over 300 animals of around 80–84 species, distributed across 11 themed habitats. Visitors can explore zones inspired by Madagascar (with lemurs and giant tortoises), Asia (with tigers, gibbons, and deer), and the African Savannah (home to giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and hippos) — all without visible fences, creating an extraordinarily realistic experience.
Opening Hours
Zoom Torino is open daily until November 9, 2025, from 10:00/10:30 a.m. with closing times varying between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., depending on the season.
The average visit lasts 3 to 5 hours, including talks with biologists, raptor flight demonstrations (lasting about 40 minutes), and relaxation breaks at the pools or picnic areas.
Tickets
• Day ticket: full €26 / reduced €26 (ages 3–12 and over 65) / free for children under 2.
• Zoom + pools (Bolder Beach and Malawi Beach): extra €7 — includes up-close viewing of penguins and hippos.
• Butterfly Oasis: extra admission around €3.
• Online promotions: basic ticket from €20 / combo ticket from €26 / weekly pass €19.90 (Mon–Fri) / unlimited seasonal pass €29.90.
How to Get There
• By car: take the A55 Turin–Pinerolo ring road, exit at Piscina, then follow signs for Cumiana (parking €5; free for motorbikes, disabled visitors, and campers).
• By public transport: trains from Torino Porta Nuova or Lingotto to Piscina (SFM2 line), with a shuttle bus available on weekends and in summer (departures at 10:35, 11:35, 12:35, etc.).
Why Visit
The park also features play areas for children, two restaurants, four snack kiosks, and relaxation areas. Since 2021, guests can stay at Lake Eyasi Glamping, offering lakeside lodges, tents, and cabins, with exclusive perks such as early park access and special experiences like “Breakfast in the Savannah” or “Secret Zoom”.
Beyond immersive environments, Zoom promotes education and conservation through workshops, shows, and animal encounters, in partnership with wildlife protection organizations. Since 2022, the Zoom Foundation has supported research and conservation projects for endangered species.
