Zenica gears up for Bosnia‑Italy: big screen, fan zone and guided tours

Zenica is preparing to welcome fans and visitors for the Bosnia‑Italy match: public screenings and local activities will combine sporting excitement with a chance to showcase the city.

  • Fan zone at Arena Husejin Smajlović: the indoor arena, regularly used for basketball and handball, holds up to 10,000 people and will serve as the main gathering point for those without match tickets.
  • Big screens and hotel screenings: public projections are planned outside Bilino Polje stadium; at the Dubrovnik hotel about 300 spectators are expected to watch on screens and a projector.
  • Fan services: stalls selling flags and scarves, coffee and pastry stands, and juice points will operate nearby; one venue is offering free sandwiches from 16:00 to 20:00.
  • Guided tours: guide Afan Abazovic organises a city tour from 17:00 to 18:00 in both Bosnian and Italian, giving visitors an opportunity to learn about the local heritage.
  • Practical advice: local organisers ask fans to follow safety rules and, where appropriate, wear the yellow and blue colours of the Bosnian supporters.

These initiatives show how international sporting events can support cultural and tourist promotion, offering shared moments for fans and a way to discover cities that host them.
