The national campaign “Against violence on women — never a white flag”, promoted by ANCI and the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, was presented in Catanzaro in the Concert Hall of Palazzo De Nobili. Launched in February and intended to continue through November 25 under the slogan #25novembretuttolanno, the initiative aims to embed prevention and gender equality practices within local administrations and communities.
Local authorities and ANCI representatives highlighted the central role of mayors as first-line actors in preventing and combating gender-based violence. The mayor of Catanzaro underlined the municipality's commitment to gender policies, while the councillor for Equal Opportunities stressed the need for adequate funding to support durable local services and structures.
Key points discussed included education, territorial networks and administrative tools to promote equality. ANCI presented findings from a survey of 533 municipalities to map existing instruments and local needs.
The campaign reinforces the commitment to make the fight against gender-based violence an everyday practice for local administrations, supported by training, administrative tools and widespread awareness initiatives.
