Vintage Vibes at Pietrarsa: a journey through rails, bodywork and design history

The Museo Nazionale Ferroviario di Pietrarsa hosts Vintage Vibes, an exhibition produced in partnership between Fondazione FS and the Collezione Lopresto. The display creates a dialogue between historic trains, vintage automobiles and 20th-century design objects to trace the development of Italian mobility.

The exhibition gathers a noteworthy selection of rarely seen items: prototypes, archival sketches and memorabilia that reveal technical, cultural and social facets of mobility over the last century.

Highlights

  • Vintage cars: 13 vehicles including prototypes and emblematic models, some connected to public figures and institutional history.
  • Archival sketches: original drawings (notably by Conte Trossi) that document the creative steps leading to models produced by well-known coachbuilders.
  • Thematic sections: displays focused on cars in the context of power, cinema-related vehicles and period promotional matériel.
  • Objects and memorabilia: competition plaques from the 1930s and 1950s, historic bicycles, toys and other artifacts that enrich the narrative.

Practical information

Venue: Museo Nazionale Ferroviario di Pietrarsa (Portici, Naples).

Dates: inaugurated on 2 April 2026 — exhibition open until 17 May 2026.
