Vinitaly 2026: Masaf showcases art, regional grape varieties and an ‘Inside There’s Italy’ bottle

Verona — The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests (Masaf) arrives at Vinitaly with a revamped exhibition space built around a 30-metre long, 10-metre high bottle labeled “Inside There’s Italy”, conceived to tell the story of Italy’s regional grape varieties and enogastronomic identity.

The initiative blends wine, art and performance to offer visitors a cultural and sensory journey. Key elements include:

• Monumental installation: the oversized bottle introducing a display of 22 emblematic grape varieties from across Italy.
• Classical works: six Roman-era statues loaned from the Uffizi Galleries and Palazzo Pitti, arranged within the exhibition thanks to the Culture Ministry and supported by Generali Italia.
• Sensory experiences: guided tastings by sommeliers from the Italian Sommeliers Federation and olfactory stations using glass cloches to preserve grape aromas.
• Performance program: outdoor shows conceived by artistic director Giuliano Peparini and performed by the Peparini Academy to narrate the cultural symbolism of wine.
• Technical programme: a busy calendar of conferences at the Palaexpo covering innovation, sustainability, territorial valorisation and skills, with participation by ISMEA, CREA, AGEA and other agencies.
• Social and training initiatives: engagement with agricultural institutes, therapeutic workshops and inclusion projects.

Ministry officials describe the installation as a platform to highlight the intrinsic link between Italian cuisine and wine. The display aims to promote Italy’s wine heritage by combining art, history and local identities in a single immersive experience.
