On 9 April 2026 the public notice for funding projects aimed at protecting and promoting Italy's minority languages under law no. 482/1999 was officially opened. The total allocation amounts to €2,622,506, to support initiatives across the country.
Eligible applicants include local authorities, educational institutions and associations engaged in promoting linguistic identities. Fundable actions include language teaching, publishing, teacher training and locally rooted cultural events.
Applications must be submitted via Certified Email (PEC) or through the MiLiS platform. Deadline is strict: 30 April 2026; late submissions will not be accepted.
The call, framed by law 482/1999, aims to support a diverse linguistic heritage that faces generational decline: the funds are not large, but can be decisive for many local communities and grassroots organisations.
