Videocittà 2026: the Gazometro reimagined around water

When: 10–12 July 2026. Where: Gazometro area and warehouses (Opificio 41 and Opificio 60 north), Rome.

The ninth edition of Videocittà focuses on water as a natural, cultural and political element. The festival—conceived by Francesco Rutelli with artistic direction by Anna Lea Antolini and creative direction by Michele Lotti—fills the Gazometro area with light installations, immersive works, VR experiences, videomapping, talks and live performances.

Highlights

• In Lympha (Opificio 41): an immersive environment produced with Eni that represents water as a generative principle where forms emerge and dissolve.
• Cao Yuxi (Opificio 60 north): Italian premiere of Nature’s Computility, an enveloping digital waterfall that uses algorithms to render water flows in ultra‑high‑resolution visuals.
• Gazometro G4: a large light installation visible from the southern quadrant of the city.
• Gazometro G2: transformed into a multidisciplinary hub hosting Water: always the same, always different, combining the visual research of Giuseppe La Spada with Francesca Heart’s sound work and performer Amanda Lana’s movement research.

• 10 July: Sara Persico and Mika Oki (AV performance), followed by an audiovisual DJ set by Mace in collaboration with Sugo Design.
• 11 July: Nziria presenting the new album Syysma; followed by Populous with visuals by Furio Ganz.
• 12 July: Donato Dozzy & Neel with Voices From The Lake and Liminal State’s live AV performance FREEFALL, an improvised audiovisual exploration.
