The historic center of Verucchio came alive with two events that promoted the village's heritage and community engagement. The inaugural I Balconi dei Malatesta walk brought together families, sports groups and associations with a focus on accessibility. In the afternoon, Villa Verucchio hosted an energetic Easter Carnival with floats, masks and children's activities.
The morning event, organized by the APS Nati con la Camicia di Jeans with the support of the Municipality, attracted over 200 participants from across Romagna. The aim was to showcase Verucchio's assets while making historic sites accessible to people with mobility limitations.
Practical details of the walk:
The group reached the main square around 12:30 for a refreshment break provided by the Municipality and local businesses. Several organized groups and volunteer associations took part, laying groundwork for future cooperation between third-sector organizations and local institutions.
In the afternoon, Villa Verucchio's Easter Carnival gathered more than 2,000 people in Piazza Europa. The celebration featured allegorical floats, street entertainment, confetti, sweets and the distribution of roughly 1,500 chocolate eggs, creating a lively attraction for families and visitors.
Initiatives like the inclusive walk and the Easter Carnival support key goals for historic villages:
Organizers and municipal representatives signaled the intent to repeat these initiatives, promoting a slow, inclusive tourism model that enhances the village's identity and community cohesion.
