Castello di Rivoli hosts El glaciar ido, the first museum solo in Italy by Chilean artist Cecilia Vicuña. On display from 29 April to 20 September 2026, the project occupies the Manica Lunga and combines a site‑specific textile installation with sound, video and poetic texts.
El glaciar ido addresses environmental and cultural memory: references to the glaciers of the Valle di Susa invite reflection on loss and the preservation of collective memory. Vicuña reinterprets the quipu — the Andean knot system — as a sensory, unstable archive in which the absence of knots signals loss and the need for bodily and attentive recovery.
The project includes participatory activities involving schools, associations and local communities: walks, material-gathering and a workshop with the Accademia Albertina of Turin fed into the work and generated ephemeral outdoor installations.
