Locus Festival 2026: music and heritage in the Valle d’Itria

The Locus Festival returns in 2026 with a lineup that combines international headliners and leading Italian artists, staged across emblematic locations in Puglia. The event highlights sites recognised by UNESCO, allowing audiences to enjoy live music within historically and architecturally significant settings.

What to expect

  • Lineup and format: a mixture of international stars, special projects and notable Italian performances, including reunions and anniversary shows.
  • Exceptional venues: concerts in Locorotondo’s squares and farmhouses, stops in Alberobello and at Castel del Monte, plus seaside stages in Ostuni and urban arenas in Bari.
  • Atmosphere: open-air evenings under the Puglian sky, spanning genres from rock and electronic to jazz and soul.

UNESCO highlights

Two venues connect directly to Italy’s World Heritage sites:

  • Alberobello – famed for its trulli and listed by UNESCO; the town’s unique architecture provides a distinctive backdrop for festival events.
  • Castel del Monte – the octagonal imperial castle is among the new locations for 2026, offering a dramatic setting for selected performances.

Locus Focus: talks and film screenings

From 7 to 14 August in Locorotondo (Piazza Aldo Moro) the Locus Focus programme will present free talks in collaboration with radio partners and music-themed film screenings, designed to deepen the festival experience through discussions and screenings.

Practical information

  • Tickets and schedule: check the festival’s official calendar for detailed programmes and ticketing information.
  • Getting there: Locorotondo and other Valle d’Itria sites are accessible by car and regional transport; allow travel time between venues if attending multiple dates.
  • Accommodation: book early, especially in UNESCO locations like Alberobello where demand rises in summer.

The Locus Festival 2026 is an opportunity to merge contemporary music with cultural heritage: attending means experiencing live performances in some of Puglia’s most iconic historical settings.
