Rita Sabo in Venice: "UNISON – The Fusion of High Cultures"

Palazzo Bembo on the Grand Canal, close to Rialto Bridge, hosts Rita Sabo's solo exhibition as part of Personal Structures – Confluences 2026, curated by the European Cultural Center Italy. The show blends painting, sculpture and installation to examine collective memories of ancient civilizations and their echoes in contemporary culture.

What to see

• First room: large canvases with fractal structures and encoded symbols introducing the idea of interdimensional resonance.
• Second room (overlooking the Grand Canal): juxtapositions of Sumerian, Egyptian and Mayan cultures with European and Asian traditions; mythic references such as Atlantis and Lemuria.
• Third room: a black-and-white environment featuring lenticular prints and a scaled-down Sacred Planet reproduced in 17 colours as a nod to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
• Final room: an immersive multisensory installation with projections, sound and scents for a transmedia experience.

Opening and press previews

Vernissage: Saturday 8 May 2026 at 17:00 on the Piano Nobile of Palazzo Bembo, with the artist and curator Tayfun Belgin present.

Press previews: Thursday 7 and Friday 8 May, 14:00–18:00 by appointment. On 7 May a press conference takes place at 15:00 with Alexander Reissle and Rita Sabo, followed by a guided visit led by the artist at 16:00.

UNISON explores links across cultures — from Mesopotamia to pre-Columbian civilizations and Asian and European traditions — encouraging reflection on memory, myth and shared responsibility. For the exhibition opening, the artist is awarded the European Cultural Center Italy's special prize "Artist as Activist" for combining creative excellence with environmental and spiritual engagement.
