"Venere Contadina" at Casale dei Cedrati

On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April the Giardino dei Cedrati, within the Casale dei Cedrati complex at Villa Pamphilj, hosts "Venere Contadina", an event aimed at rediscovering Rome's agricultural roots. The programme includes talks on territory and landscape, zero-km food tastings and activities for children.

• Dates: 18–19 April 2026.
• Main talks: Sunday 19 at 12:00 the marathon "The agricultural heart of Rome" brings together landscape experts, biodiversity specialists and representatives of urban agriculture projects.
• Tastings: Sunday 19 from 14:00 to 16:30 featuring produce from the on-site vegetable garden and greenhouses, cheeses paired with bitter orange jam from the garden, and an olive oil tasting by the Consorzio Olio di Roma IGP.
• Family activities: children’s workshops, visits to the "citrus library" and the hydroponic vegetable garden.

The event highlights sustainable practices and local production within the city, aiming to strengthen links between urban farming and cultural hospitality. Participation details are managed by the Casale dei Cedrati organisers.
