Mobility and culture: three Calabrian towns await upgrade of line 369

CASTROLIBERO – CERISANO – MARANO PRINCIPATO. On 18 April 2026 the mayors of the three municipalities sent a joint request to the Regional Transport Department to extend line 369 from two daily round trips to twelve, aiming to make the service genuinely usable. So far the regional offices have provided no response, while residents and local administrations report difficulties accessing schools, cinemas, theatres and cultural events.

• Access to culture: events and local venues rely on regular connections for students and audiences.
• Rights and inclusion: workers, elderly people and young residents report dependence on private cars and rising household costs.
• Environment and sustainability: limited public transport increases traffic and emissions, conflicting with regional sustainability goals.

The citizens’ group that published the appeal asks for clear timelines and transparency on the outcome of the request. For the local community, mobility is not only logistics but a prerequisite for cultural and social participation.
