ITS Academy and Fondo Studio: training and finance for tourism excellence

At the 76th Federalberghi General Assembly held at the Salone delle Fontane in Rome, Consap president Sestino Giacomoni pointed to specialised training and access to credit as key drivers to strengthen Italy's hospitality competitiveness.

Giacomoni stressed that ITS Academy for tourism act as "centres of excellence", developed in partnership with businesses to balance theory and practice and ensure high employability of graduates.

• Targeted training: ITS pathways co-designed with industry to meet labour market needs.
• Financial support: the Fondo Studio managed by Consap provides guarantees to make credit available to deserving students aged 18–40.
• Amounts and processes: loans up to €50,000 for programmes in Italy and up to €70,000 for studies abroad; procedures have been simplified and fully digitalised.

Giacomoni underlined that investing in quality education is "the only way to strengthen a country's tourism reputation" and that "study is not a cost but the most important investment in human capital."
