Val Ferret: at the foot of Mont Blanc, amidst alpine views and silence

Autore: Redazione 31/08/2025 11:08

Val Ferret is one of the most evocative valleys in the Aosta Valley. It offers a pure alpine landscape, given its position at the foot of Mont Blanc, opening up immediately after Courmayeur.

It is a destination that captivates in every season, and its charm is also due to its location, as mentioned. On one side, the imposing walls of Mont Blanc rise, and on the other, green meadows border Switzerland.

In summer, Val Ferret becomes a paradise for hikers and trekking lovers. The trails vary in difficulty; there are simpler ones, such as those along the Dora di Ferret stream, but also more demanding routes that lead to the alpine refuges. Sections of the famous Tour du Mont Blanc, one of Europe's most renowned trekking routes, are also here. Mountain biking excursions are very frequent in Val Ferret, and two-wheel enthusiasts find adrenaline-pumping descents and incredible scenic views.

In winter, Val Ferret transforms into a magical place, despite the absence of ski lifts. This aspect actually makes it even more special, as it can be visited without the stress of mass tourism.

Another characteristic is the presence of small alpine pastures and refuges where you can taste the typical dishes of the Aosta Valley tradition. Val Ferret is the ideal destination for those seeking nature, tranquility, and breathtaking panoramas. Ideal for every season, we recommend everyone to visit it.
