Women in Science exhibition at the Ducal Palace of Sassari

From April 23 to May 6, 2026 the Sala Duce inside the Ducal Palace of Sassari presents the photographic exhibition "A Life as a Scientist", a showcase that highlights the role of women in research through portraits and personal stories.

The exhibition, organized by a foundation in collaboration with a journalists' association, uses images and narratives to bring the public — particularly younger audiences — closer to STEM careers, offering contemporary female role models and challenging gender stereotypes.

Why attend

  • Twenty portraits by photographer Gerald Bruneau portraying Italian women scientists in familiar, everyday poses.
  • Educational focus with guided tours tailored for schools and youth groups to foster interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
  • The Sassari stop is part of a national itinerary that has previously visited iconic Italian cultural sites.
