More than 48,000 visitors attended the "Kandinsky and Italy" exhibition at Museo Maga in Gallarate, confirming the museum's ability to balance scholarly research with broad public appeal.
The exhibition juxtaposed Wassily Kandinsky's work with Italian abstraction across a route of roughly 130 works, featuring artists such as Paul Klee, Joan Miró, Lucio Fontana and Carla Accardi. Curated by Elisabetta Barisoni and Emma Zanella, the project was developed through institutional collaboration with regional and national partners.
Visitor figures reflect more than attendance: they demonstrate the outcome of sustained curatorial work, institutional networks and effective public communication. The exhibition was also part of the Cultural Olympics programme for Milan Cortina 2026, underlining the cultural impact of museum partnerships.
For visitors and cultural professionals, the challenge now is to convert this high attendance into sustained engagement and an expanded programme of activities. The result strengthens Maga's position as a key cultural hub in the region.
