Galleria Bonioni Arte in Reggio Emilia presents, from 18 April to 31 May 2026, a solo exhibition by Laura Mircea. The show gathers around twenty wall works and several recent sculptures, all created using natural and mineral materials.
Mircea's practice sits between painting and sculpture: surfaces become bodies and matter turns into a narrative device. Using quartz, volcanic dust, oxidations and metal leaf, the artist investigates the relationship between humans and nature, submerged communication networks and the fluid borders of geographical memory.
The exhibition is accompanied by a critical text by Fabrizio Guerrini, which reads the works as emotional geographies: maps that deform continents and islands to evoke memory and drift. The project is supported by a network of Italian galleries presenting the artist on a short national tour.
The exhibition catalogue, available at the gallery, contains the critical essay and photographic documentation of the works. The show invites visitors to experience how cartography can be rethought as a tactile, poetic mapping of the contemporary world.
