Galleria Studio G7 in Bologna presents Endless, the sixth solo exhibition by German artist Ulrich Erben. The show brings together previously unseen works produced between 2025 and 2026 that further his investigation into color, light and spatial perception.
The paintings are organized around a subtle horizontal division that simultaneously separates and connects color fields. Surfaces range from light, layered passages where light and pigment interact asynchronously to denser, more material brushwork where the gesture is visible and free.
Accompanied by a critical essay by Martina Corgnati, the exhibition gathers recurring chromatic registers from Erben’s practice into unified fields that activate visual and sensory relationships. His painting unfolds as a measured yet poetic conjunction of time, space and light.
Ulrich Erben (Düsseldorf, 1940) lives and works in Düsseldorf. Educated in Hamburg, Venice and Berlin, he moved from landscape and still life painting toward a rigorous study of the relationship between geometry and nature, with special focus on architecture and spatial dimensions. He has exhibited widely and his works are held in major public and private collections.
Endless offers a focused occasion to experience a perceptual approach to contemporary painting, where light and color shape a suspended, open-ended visual field.
