Accessible tourism: Aosta Valley in Florence for “Italia Insieme”

On Wednesday 22 April the Aosta Valley presented its experience in inclusive tourism at the national event "Italia Insieme - Accessible Tourism and Territory", held at Florence's Stazione Leopolda.

The regional stand highlighted nature, culture and sport framed through accessibility, aiming to guarantee the right to travel and participate for everyone, including people with disabilities.

  • Projects showcased: Skiing for all abilities (Lo sci per tutte le abilità), In 3 VIE, CASAPITA.
  • Assistive technology: the Sensi+ project for autonomy-supporting technologies, developed in co-design with the Regional Health Department and organizations such as the Italian Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted and the National Association of the Deaf.
  • Local participation: Valle d'Aosta social cooperatives Il Cielo in una Pentola and C'era l'Acca attended the event.

The Regional Councillor for Tourism highlighted that national and EU funds have enabled investments in infrastructure and training for tourism operators, with the priority of making Aosta Valley an accessible destination across all seasons.

The event was an occasion to promote concrete regional actions at the national level to improve accessibility, inclusion and the quality of the tourism offer.
