Rome: Via Margutta becomes an open-air gallery as the 100 Painters present 'Nature That Changes'

From 30 April to 3 May 2026 the historic 100 Painters Via Margutta exhibition marks its 125th edition with the theme "Nature That Changes." The event transforms the street into a dispersed exhibition, inviting the public to engage with works that explore the metamorphosis of landscape and the relationship between nature and urban space.

• Theme: "Nature That Changes," approached through figurative and abstract languages, material exploration, mark-making and color.
• Opening: Thursday 30 April at 16:00 with the traditional ribbon-cutting and the participation of institutional representatives.
• Venue: Via Margutta, Rome — an outdoor display featuring the characteristic easels and umbrellas of the show.
• Organiser: Associazione Cento Pittori Via Margutta, which for more than seventy years has fostered direct encounters between artists and the public.
• Purpose: to provoke reflection and feeling rather than provide explanatory statements, highlighting art's role in attuning perception to environmental and urban change.

The exhibition is conceived as an immersive walk: visitors can meet the artists, experience a range of approaches from classical to experimental, and see how metamorphosis is rendered through material, light and gesture. This edition reaffirms Via Margutta's role as a meeting place between tradition and contemporary art, supported by local partners and institutions.
