Five Marche municipalities form pact for culture, tourism and development

The mayors of Camerino, Castelraimondo, Pioraco, Fiuminata and Sefro have proposed a programme agreement to coordinate cultural activities, tourist promotion and territorial development projects in the inland area of the province of Macerata. The University of Camerino (Unicam) is named as technical partner to support project design and applications for regional and EU funding.

• Camerino: university hub and strategic node for planning;
• Castelraimondo, Pioraco, Fiuminata, Sefro: mountain communities with tourism vocation and local heritage to be enhanced;
• Existing collaborative experience includes the Alta Valle del Potenza and Scarzito tourism consortium and prior joint environmental actions.

Next steps include formalising the agreement through council resolutions and technical working groups, defining shared projects and seeking public and private funding. The initiative's success will depend on building operational structures able to convert the proposal into concrete interventions to raise visibility and attractiveness of the villages.
