Trequanda: schedule of celebrations for Blessed Bonizzella
From 8 to 11 May 2026 the village of Trequanda hosts the main celebrations for Blessed Bonizzella, featuring religious ceremonies, music, folkloric events and activities to explore the local landscape and traditions.
Main program
- Friday, 8 May: organ concert by Maestro Daniele Dori, principal organist of the Florence Cathedral. A significant cultural moment that blends artistic and spiritual expression.
- Saturday, 9 May: a day focused on the territory and families with walks through Trequanda's hills, visits to beehives, a morning screening of the film "Private Angelo" and afternoon educational and play activities for children; the day ends with Mass and the opening of the urn of Blessed Bonizzella.
- Sunday, 10 May: morning visits to the beehives and Mass; in the afternoon, from 4:00 PM, a procession through the town led by the Filarmonica Guido Monaco and the Samba of Torrita di Siena, followed by the first edition of the Contesa delle Porte and evening performances by flag-wavers and drummers.
- Monday, 11 May: solemn Mass celebrated by Cardinal Augusto Paolo Lojudice, the traditional "Scapoli-Ammogliati" sports challenge at the sports field and, at 9:30 PM, the Te Deum of thanksgiving, the closing of the urn and the final fireworks display.
Side events and services
Throughout the weekend a food stand and the traditional charity fair will be active. Events offer opportunities to gather and to discover Trequanda's cultural and landscape heritage.
