"Italia di Moda" is a photographic project that merges fashion and landscape into a cohesive visual narrative. Shot over more than a year, the series by Andrea Varani features Ludmilla Voronkina Bozzetti as the sole model and traces a journey across Italy—from the Dolomites to the southern regions, including both major cities and lesser-known towns.
The exhibition presents 48 photographs where garments by notable Italian maisons (including Giorgio Armani, Dolce&Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Etro) are not mere ornaments but integral elements of the setting, reflecting local identity and craftsmanship.
Varani's approach favors clarity and authenticity: the images avoid excessive staging and instead seek balance between clothing, subject and environment. Displaying the project at MAXXI provides a contemporary context that invites interpretative engagement with the works.
The exhibition offers a contemporary perspective on Italian fashion, presenting it as a narrative device that connects landscape, community and cultural identity.
