Fondazione Accorsi-Ometto in Turin presents the exhibition "Alla conquista del Rinascimento", dedicated to Giovanni Antonio Bazzi, widely known as the Sodoma. The show highlights the painter's early career and the development of his distinctive pictorial language.
Curated by Serena D’Italia, Luca Mana and Vittorio Natale with an expert scientific committee, the exhibition assembles more than fifty works from major public and private collections. Several pieces are rarely displayed or shown for the first time, offering fresh insights into Sodoma's formative years.
Loaned works come from institutions such as the Pinacoteca di Brera, the Galleria Borghese, the Musei Vaticani, the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena, the Accademia Carrara and various Italian collections. This network of lenders allows visitors to follow the artist's geographic and stylistic journey across Piedmont, Siena and Rome.
This retrospective is a valuable opportunity to rediscover Sodoma and to explore the Renaissance through the lens of cross-regional exchanges, patronage and artistic dialogue. For up-to-date information on tickets, guided visits and program events, consult the Foundation's official communications.
