Turin and province: a month of events for Europe and peace

A widespread program involves Turin and several municipalities in the metropolitan area to celebrate Europe Day and promote the value of peace. The initiative is coordinated by Europe Direct Turin and the Metropolitan City, together with the Antenna Europe municipalities network.

Activities run throughout the month of May, aiming to involve schools, young people and emblematic city locations. The symbolic date is May 9, when cultural events are scheduled and monuments will be illuminated in the colors of the European Union.

• Locations: university campuses (e.g., Luigi Einaudi), Palazzo Cisterna, Piazza Castello and town halls in surrounding municipalities (Condove, Ciriè, Rivoli, Settimo, Almese, Leinì, Druento, etc.).
• Activities: school workshops (GiocaEuropa), concerts (Music4EU), debates on democracy, rights and climate, flash mobs and a book bus with European-themed readings.
• Youth projects: initiatives such as Giovani@Europe and MEMO4EU that place students at the center, promoting participation and civic engagement.

The calendar is accompanied by the slogan “A heritage of cultures, a shared peace”, aiming to turn European values into concrete local experiences.
