Aliano receives Franco Mulas donation: 18 works boost bid for Italian

Aliano strengthens cultural bid with donation of Franco Mulas works

The municipality of Aliano has officially acquired 18 works by artist Franco Mulas, generously donated by his daughter, Sara Mulas. The initiative was coordinated by art historian Giuseppe Appella, a driving force behind the village’s cultural projects.

The collection, estimated at around €110,000, will be housed in a dedicated permanent room and will be publicly unveiled with an inaugural exhibition scheduled by June 2026. The donation is a strategic element of the "Aliano 2027" project and is intended to reinforce the town’s candidacy for the Italian Capital of Culture 2027, highlighting a dialogue between contemporary painting and the literary legacy of Carlo Levi.
