HackCultura 2026: schools and AI at the DiCultHer showcase

On 15, 22 and 29 May 2026 HackCultura, the hackathon focused on cultural ownership promoted by DiCultHer, returns online. The eighth edition of the national “Raffaello De Ruggieri” showcase highlights students’ digital productions centred on cultural heritage and the critical use of artificial intelligence.

The event showcases outputs from the DiCultHer Academy’s Cultural Intelligence Labs and features participation from Google for Education and the Google Educator Group (GEG), reinforcing the project’s European dimension and collaboration between schools and tech communities.

• Dates: 15, 22, 29 May 2026 (online).
• Themes: culture and sustainability, rights and digital citizenship, memory and interculturality, creativity and the digital future.
• Outputs: digital narratives, audio guides, augmented reality installations, experiential AI Books and territorial prototypes.

The 2026 edition emphasises AI as a cognitive and creative partner, supported by the AI HUB Creatività and a training path that involved around 300 teachers during the school year. Student productions will be archived as shared resources for future labs and DiCultHer Academy courses.
