This summer an archaeological campaign on Stromboli (Aeolian Islands) will investigate an important prehistoric settlement, protected since 2016. The project is promoted by an international institution and led by an expert scientific director.
Preliminary investigations revealed ancient domestic structures such as circular huts and stone walls, with later layers attributable to the Classical and Medieval periods. Reported finds include ceramic fragments and beads from the Aegean area, which help reconstruct contact networks and local chronologies.
The campaign aims to produce new data on island occupation sequences and central Mediterranean connections. Results are expected to inform conservation strategies, site management and future scientific publications.
