From 31 May 2026 the Centro Pecci launches a twin exhibition project juxtaposing a major second‑half twentieth‑century donation with a rediscovery of photographer Verita Monselles. Both shows address artistic rupture, identity and the body through diverse media and archival materials.
Curator: Stefano Pezzato. Installation by Ibrahim Kombarji.
Built on Carlo Palli's extensive donation, ROTTE maps critical trajectories in late twentieth‑century art. The display gathers roughly 150 works — painting, objects, performance documentation, visual poetry and archive materials — to outline exchanges between artistic languages and disruptive practices.
Selected artists featured:
Curators: Alessandra Acocella, Michele Bertolino, Monica Gallai. Installation by Giuseppe Ricupero.
CARNALE is the first major survey at an Italian contemporary art centre dedicated to Verita Monselles (1929–2004). The exhibition examines photography as an autobiographical and social inquiry, focusing on body, identity and the female role within visual culture from the 1960s to the 1980s.
Vernissage: 30 May 2026, 18:00–21:00.
Dates: ROTTE from 31 May to 1 November 2026; CARNALE from 31 May to 30 August 2026.
Venue: Luigi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art, Viale della Repubblica 277, 59100 Prato (PO), Italy.
Both exhibitions reinforce Centro Pecci's position as a hub for research and preservation of late twentieth‑century artistic practices and for the reassessment of key female figures in Italian photography.
