Vignanotica Beach: a wild paradise in the heart of the Gargano

Autore: Redazione 01/08/2025 09:21

Located in the most spectacular stretch of the Gargano coast, between Vieste and Mattinata, Vignanotica Beach is a pearl of the Gargano National Park, famous for its white limestone cliffs, smooth pebbles, and crystalline waters. This bay is perfect for those seeking relaxation and adventure.

Vignanotica Beach, about 500–700 meters long, is a place of rare beauty. Its uniqueness lies in the cliffs that plunge into the sea and the sea caves carved by the waves. Among them are the Grotta dei Colombi (Pigeons' Cave), the Grotta dei Sogni (Dreams' Cave), and the Grotta Campana Grande (Great Bell Cave). It is a paradise for nature lovers and for digital detox: cell service is often absent, guaranteeing total immersion in tranquility. The "Path of Love" (Sentiero dell’Amore) is a panoramic trek that connects Vignanotica to the Baia delle Zagare, offering breathtaking views. In summer, if you appreciate being around people, you can find beach establishments, but if you prefer, at the ends of the bay you can enjoy a wild and romantic atmosphere, ideal for couples' getaways. The sea caves are a perfect place for snorkeling and kayaking enthusiasts, while cinema lovers will appreciate the fact that this beach was a set for the film Wonder Woman.

The bay is also known as the "beach of the seagulls" for the seagulls that gather at dusk, animating a beach that is often silent. There is also a path more immersed in the greenery, which is an invitation to discover the Gargano coast in an authentic way. The beach is ideal for those seeking the comfort of establishments, but also for those who want to live a mystical experience.

Vignanotica Beach is easily reachable by car from Provincial Road 53, with paid parking (about 10 euros per day) and a shuttle service to go down to the bay. Alternatively, you can arrive by sea with boat trips from Vieste or Mattinata, or even on foot via the Sentiero dell'Amore, a route of about 3 km that offers unforgettable views. In summer, it is advisable to arrive early in the morning to enjoy the clearest sea and find a spot at the establishments.
